DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nWho Should Take This Course?\n\nYou should take this co
 urse if you are a Level 1 instructor with a love of freestyle snowboarding
 . You should have a desire to introduce new students to snowboarding in th
 e park safely and successfully. You should also be confident and comfortab
 le both communicating and demonstrating in front of a group.\n\n\nAm I Rea
 dy?\n\nThe Park Instructor Level 1 standards require you to pass both ridi
 ng and teaching evaluations. In order to help you achieve success on the c
 ourse\, we suggest you take the following steps in preparation\, if they a
 re available to you:\n\n 	Spend time working as an instructor\, honing you
 r presentation and class management skills.\n 	Take a session with a curre
 nt CASI Park Level 1 Evaluator to get feedback on your riding ability in r
 elation to the technical standard.\n\nYou may also take the Park 1 course 
 as a non-testing participant. Participate in the course and improve your t
 eaching and riding skills without participating in the exams. Non-testing 
 participants will not receive the Park 1 certification but at the completi
 on of the course will receive a certificate of participation.\n\nCost:\n\n
 Course $313.94/ Retest $135.03\n*10% late fee added if registered after th
 e deadline date. Taxes and lift tickets are not included in course fees
 .\n\nPre-requisites:\n\n 	Current CASI Level 1 Instructor\n 	Must be fluen
 t in either English or French\n 	Able to demonstrate comfortable and safe 
 riding skills on intermediate terrain\, as well as basic terrain park feat
 ures.\n\nDescription:\n\nThe CASI Park Instructor certification course is 
 open to members with a minimum Level 1 Instructor Certification. Candidate
 s on the course will spend time exploring snowboarding technique and teach
 ing methods as they relate to introductory terrain park and freestyle snow
 boarding.\n\nThe Park Instructor course is an introductory course\, design
 ed to give successful candidates the skills necessary to introduce student
 s to the terrain park and freestyle snowboarding safely. Progression-based
  teaching methods\, understanding of basic freestyle techniques\, as well 
 as lesson planning and effective communication skills will be addressed. 
 Candidates will receive coaching on their snowboarding\, as well as feedba
 ck on their teaching skills\, with the goal of reaching the Park Instructo
 r standard in both of these areas. They will also receive suggestions and 
 strategies for long-term development. The successful candidate is certifie
 d to take students into freestyle terrain\, and teach introductory / basic
  manoeuvres on beginner terrain park features.\n\nCourse Duration:\n\n2 da
 ys totalling a minimum of 12 hours (including evaluations).
