SUMMARY:CASI Level 2 Snowboard Instructor Course
DESCRIPTION:CASI Level 2 Snowboard Instructor Course\n\n\n\n\n\nWho Should
Take This Course?\n\nYou should take this course if you are a Level 1 Inst
ructor with some teaching experience\, love to teach\, and have a desire t
o take your teaching skills to the next level. You should be confident and
comfortable demonstrating intermediate to advanced riding in correspondin
 g terrain.\n\n\nAm I Ready?\n\nThe Level 2 Instructor standards require yo
u to pass both riding and teaching evaluations. In order to help you achie
ve success on the course\, we suggest you take the following steps in prep
aration\, if they are available to you:\n\n Spend time working as an inst
ructor (CASI recommends at least 45 hours of teaching experience as a Leve
l 1 instructor)\, honing your communication\, analysis and group managemen
 t skills.\n Attend a session with a current CASI Level 2 Evaluator\, to g
et feedback on your riding ability in relation to the technical standard.\
n Complete the Level 2 course preparation workshops.\n\nYou may also take
the Level 2 course as a non-testing participant. Participate in the cours
e and improve your teaching and riding skills without participating in the
exams. Non-testing participants will not receive the Level 2 certificatio
n but at the completion of the course will receive a certificate of partic
ipation.\n\nCost:\n\n$499.00 / Retest $120.00\n*$25.00 late fee added if
registered after the deadline date. Taxes and lift tickets are not incl
uded in course fees.\n\nPre-requisites:\n\n Current CASI Level 1 Instruct
or\n Must be fluent in either English or French\n Able to ride on advanc
ed terrain including un-groomed slopes\, and carve controlled turns on int
ermediate terrain.\n\nDescription:\n\nThe CASI Level 2 Instructor certific
ation is for any snowboarder that has passed the Level 1 certification\, a
nd has an interest in teaching more experienced snowboarders. CASI recomme
nds that Level 2 candidates have prior experience teaching snowboarding in
a snow school setting (approximately 45 hours) before attempting the Leve
 l 2 certification. This is not a mandatory requirement\, and all Level 1 m
embers are welcomed on the course\, however\, it is recommended in order t
o help ensure success on the Level 2 evaluations.\n\nThe goal of the Level
2 course is to develop a skills-based teaching approach for intermediate
snowboarding\, as well as an understanding of CASI technique and methodolo
gy\, and the role of snowboard teaching within the industry. It combines p
ractical snowboard teaching methods\, technical understanding and developm
ent\, as well as development of guest interaction and technical analysis s
kills.\n\nCandidates will receive coaching on their riding and teaching sk
ills\, with the goal of reaching the Level 2 standard in both areas. They
will also receive suggestions and strategies for long-term development. Th
e successful candidate is certified to teach snowboarders up to the interm
ediate level (skills and terrain).\n\nLevel 2 is a prerequisite for the L
 evel 3 certification.\n\nCourse Duration:\n\n4 days totalling a minimum o
 f 24 hours (including evaluations).\n\n
